11th Annual
Super Bowl Sunday
Football Widows' Sewing Retreat

- A Benefit For Haven -

Sewing Retreat attendees happily learning and listening
to this year's excellent Teachers/Presenters

On Super Bowl Sunday, February 3, 2008,  over 70 happy sewers braved the bitter cold and snow to celebrate Haberman Fabrics' 11th Annual Football Widows' Sewing Retreat, a benefit for HAVEN. They spent the afternoon learning, sewing and thoroughly enjoying each other's companionship. Over $1,600.00 was raised for the important works of HAVEN with admission donations.

Our GAME PLAN for the day included the all day PROBLEM SOLVING CLINIC, where talented staff shared their expertise and assisted customers in conquering their sewing challenges and projects. There were three great demonstrations, too. These inspiring demo lessons included: Lucky Weddigen's fun and fashionable "Keep it Together" Scarf; Eugenia Patterson's stylish and unique "HANG IN THERE!" Decorative Covered Hangers; and Lynn McCabe's one-of-a-kind "IN THE BAG"  Stylish Clutch Purses or Reusable Lunch Bags, made with fabulous mix and match fabrics and trims.

HAPPY 50th ANNIVERSARY TO US!
In honor of turning the "Big 50" this year, Haberman Fabrics celebrated by giving away $50.00 store GIFT CARDS to lucky winners of our Sewers' Bingo!

A wonderful time of sewing and camaraderie was had by all!

HAVEN, the non-profit beneficiary of this event, is a nationally recognized leader in Oakland County and surrounding communities providing treatment, counseling, shelter, legal advocacy, and pro-active prevention programs focused exclusively on domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.
